Our Middlesbrough Family Solicitor explains;-
In the majority of cases a child will not be expected to attend the court. One way to communicate what the child’s wishes are would be to incorporate this into a report and to use professionals such as CAFCASS to assist with this.
Although the child’s views will be taken into account, those views are only one part of the welfare checklist and will not be the only reason for the court making a decision.
